Life Groups – May 4th
In His Presence
When has been the time in your life the you felt you were in God’s presence/ the closest to God?
What was going on in your life at that time?
How have you felt when you are in the presence/close to God?
Exodus 34:29
When Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tablets of the covenant law in his hands, he was not aware that his face was radiant because he had spoken with the LORD.
There was a visible difference in Moses after being with God. Moses was “radiant”.
We too are in contact with God. God speaks to us through Hid word and dwells in us.
Acts 17:28
‘For in him we live and move and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’
1 Corinthians 3:16
Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst?
Do you see God’s people being “radiant” to those who they come in contact with that may not know God? Why or Why Not?
What do you think dulls our “radiance”?
Being in the presence of the Lord should result in pure joy, and it is this joy that sustains us in the difficult times of life.
Nehemiah 8:10
Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.”
Psalm 16:11
You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
It is through our love and joy of being Hod’s children that we can truly share the gospel. When we let life steal our joy we have allowed the outside world to diminish our message of hope to the lost.
Finish your time in life group sharing the joys you have found in being God’s child. Let these confessions of joy become the spark to brighten your radiance as you go into this next week.
